Dwayne Haskins, may he rest in peace, was a total bust in the NFL even though he was a decent QB at Ohio State (2016-18). Justin Fields (2019-20) put up even better numbers at OSU. W/ that in mind, I looked up their NFL stats and what I found is kinda worrisome.
Haskins
2,804 yards in 16 games: 175 YPG
Completion percentage: 60.1
Fumles per game: 0.75
TD per game: 0.8
INT per game: 0.9
Fields
4,539 yards in 29 games: 156 YPG
Completion percentage: 59.8
Fumbles per game: 1.06
TD per game: 0.9 INT per game: 0.8
Yes, as of today, Haskins was basically just as "good" as Fields as a passer. Talk about the future face of the franchise...

That's why I want to stay far away from the USC QB if he declares. He's basically Fields. Did behind great talent has more time than he will in the NFL to process the defense and then find a great WR getting open. I feel like the best QBs in the NFL right now have come from smaller schools where the talent isn't as good as the major schools like a Alabama, OSU, USC etc etc. I could just be talking out my butt though as I have no stats to back this claim up.

There's also Drake Maye from North Carolina (Mitch's old team). He's been turning heads and is considered to be the second best QB prospect in 2024 and is expected to be a top 5 pick.

Is that Caleb? Some might not, but I have no doubt that what his father said was true, if it looks like the wrong team will select him he'll turn it down. I have no doubt he's looking directly at the Bears while saying it.
So I don't think we'll have to worry about him. and if what you are saying is true, I hope it happens. I am a firm believer in taking the QB that produced w/out NFL OL and WR's to make his life easy. Find the guy like Brees when he was at Purdue, or; even though it didn't work out, Trubisky from NC. If the qb is playing a real schedule, not some D3 or juco schedule and putting up #'s and is nearly sans nfl talent, that's the guy I want.
Mainly b/c he'll feel at home in the Bears O, which is also normally sans NFL talent.

These are who I consider the top
Mahomes - Texas Tech Allen - Wyoming Rodgers - California Herbert - Oregon Wilson - Wisconsin Tua -Alabama He might be the exception though.
