I'll be honest. I'm blown away with this acquisition too. He is a PERFECT fit for Justin Fields. Perfect. And this guy is a stellar route-runner. Precision that will unlock Fields' talent as a vertical threat. I think we'll see some of that breathtaking long-ball accuracy that Fields showcased at Ohio State. And DJ has never had the QB that could deliver that kind of long-ball with the accuracy Fields has. He's played mostly with pitiful QBs. As Eberflus said, DJ just has an extra gear he can kick in... we have had fast guys before, but not guys who could run precise routes with lethal game speed (different than Combine numbers... but guys who have real GAME speed in the route tree).

“The first thing I (noticed) is speed,” head coach Matt Eberflus said. “I just saw that yesterday, and I was like ‘wow.’ There’s a different gear there, you know? That was exciting to see yesterday.”
Eberflus says that the receiver, who has racked up more than 50 catches in each of his first five NFL seasons, combines raw physical ability with stellar technique.
“It’s rare when you’ve got a guy that can run the route and have the route discipline that he has and the football IQ that he has, and then also that speed and that talent he has,” he said.
