Lions drafted a running back in the first round who will get every opportunity to be the guy because he'll be making more than Monty...wonder how appreciated he's feeling now?

This ^^^^^ I really liked Monty. And for sure it sucked last season playing on a 3-win team. But that's just the reality of the NFL. The Bears RB room is loaded this season with better overall talent than last year. I'm not saying it's a big improvement. But overall I'm thinking the run game will be a bit better this year. I do believe the Bears drafted a future star RB in Roschon Johnson. Bears got him on a rookie contract for 4 years (his base salary is $750k/yr - that's pocket lint for that level of talent).

To me he's posting sour grapes. Loved Monty when he was here, I wish him luck in Detroit until we play them of course, but they drafted a RB in the 1st so I can't imagine he's feeling great about his chances of playing.
Monty had the misfortune of playing on 4 awful Bears teams and he's a competitor who wants to win. The guy is all heart and I can't blame him for venting. He would have had better stats with halfway decent blocking and coaching/play-calling. The guy was almost asked to make something out of nothing. I get it.
But fact remains, he was a good but not great player at the game's most replaceable position and wasn't a homerun type of threat. Sorry, but that's the business end here.

Not sure this was necessary from Monty. Tbh I was surprised, as he was the last guy I expected to drag this shit. Does nothing good really, poor effort to suck in Lions fans.
