Hmmmm...Young is a stud...when healthy. That last part being the key part to the equation. Beyond that, Washington didn't pick up his option, and has some other guys they're going to need to pay after this season. Their whole defensive end depth chart are basically free agents after this season, including Montez Sweat.
I'm saying all this to say, I wouldn't offer a 2 and a 3 to Washington. I'm not giving up premium picks for a guy who's been hurt and you don't believe in enough to pick up his 5th year option. At most I'd give a 3 that could maybe become a 2.

Great post. If Washington isn’t convinced enough to resign him, why should we give up valuable draft treasure for him.

I'm with you on this one and yeah I'm a little torn.
How often do you have a shot at an elite, young edge om a rookie contract? Almost never But none of that means jack if he can't get and stay healthy which he hasn't done in 2 years.
Tough call, but since we aren't ready to make a run and it isn't a direct help to Fields, I have to PASS.

+1
This is why I voted to not do it. Update: I just checked the current voting. It seems that no one here (at least the 4 that voted when I looked) all agree.

From my understanding of Young. Great when healthy, but rarely healthy. So I'd pass unless we are talking about a 6th or 7th round pick. Then sure why not.
