I have read a number of these articles saying the Bears drafted the #1 offensive lineman in the 2023 draft. I do feel a lot better about the protection Fields should have this year. It won't be perfect. But you rarely get "perfect" in the NFL. Can't wait to watch our returning players on offense in year-2 in the Getsy scheme. The O scored 19.2 PPG last season. I have to believe the team's PPG will go up 3 or 4 points. I believe that is a reasonable expectation with the additions to the OL, WRs, TE unit & RB unit. That would easily put the 2023 offense into the top-10 in the NFL in scoring. Anyway, I like the fact that Poles spent the #1 pick on protecting Justin Fields... and I like the fact that his trade down resulted in harvesting a 1st round WR1, DJ Moore, who is just now entering his prime years. Poles got Fields a great OT & WR1. Pretty impressive.
