Sounds like an extremely high-ceiling guy if he will put in the work, learn & develop. He has a rare combination of physical attributes, but it sounds like he has to un-learn what they had him doing in college. He is being totally rebuilt from the ground up. He is a project, but a project with a ceiling of being one of the best in the NFL. It's going to take awhile, and a lot of hard work.

I've watched that clip a couple of times. Personally, I think that Swifty does one of the better jobs when he puts these videos together.
A point he makes with Dexter is that he became the anchor for their DL and played way more downs that most other Power 5 college DL players. I don't subscribe to the premium draft analyses services, so I can't see any player stats at the level of detail required to verify this. But assuming his data is accurate, it looks like Dexter played 150% or 200% of the snaps that other notable DL prospects (like Jalen Carter as an example) played.
Swifty just released a similar video on Zacch Pickens and makes similar observations relating to playing time for him as well. I'm sure we all remember what happened to Akiem Hicks' performance when we ended up playing him on > 80% of all defensive snaps a few years ago. If you want a DL player to have maximum performance and productivity, he needs to be in a scheme where there is a fair amount of platooning, so he comes into critical situations with something left in the tank.
I'm not saying that Dexter (or Pickens) is coming in to the 2023 season as a polished and complete product. He is a rookie and will have a lot of work to do and most likely a decently steep learning curve. Like most rookies do.
I guess it is just the slow time of the year and the writers need to produce product. And we all need to remember the mistakes that most of the self-important "talking head" types have made when it comes to their sport. Maybe we just revisit the draft analyses for QB in the 2017 draft. I'm sure I can find the statements from many of the draft pundits on how Mitch Trubisky was the #1 QB prospect in that draft. If not #1, certainly one of the top 3 QB prospects (or in the top 5).
