Yeah, but the tix were all sold out. Just because fans didn't want to sit in the cold to see a 1-win team against a 2-win team - it didn't cost the McCaskey's a penny today.

Yes but that's pretty symbolic, don't you agree?
It's more than just symbolic because according to reports all of the game day seats were not sold out prior to game time. And those no shows mean less parking revenue, less souvenir sales, less concession sales, and basically the kind of apathy that's meant to tell NFL owners something just as I have here. So it does cost them money.
It's Chicago for cryin' out loud. It snows there in December and it's never stopped that place from being SRO when the team is winning so don't even go there with the "well it was snowing thing" like Chicagoan's will melt if hit by a few snow flakes. This was SF, and almost guaranteed win too. Does that say anything to anyone about how apathetic fans have gotten. Some probably just gave their seats away to non-paying customers.
So it's far more than just symbolic. Maybe it's a sign that Teddy Bears should begin to worry about taking care of more than just his corporate partners and begin to respect the fans needs to see some progress on the field as opposed to in the post op ward and rehab center. Fifteen minutes before kick off it looked like the last ten minutes of a beat down rather than a stadium filling with fans anticipating a win.
If I'm no longer willing to spend 3 hours of my Sunday even watching a game in the comfort of my den I don't blame the thousands who chose not to attend. No, it's far more than just symbolic. It's called "fed up".

I understand. My problem is that I still like watching the games. The snow put out my Directv and I thought I was screwed yesterday. But in the Shoutbox, one of the guys said if I climbed up on the roof and knocked the snow off the dish I could see the game. I'm an old guy and definitely shouldn't be up in a snowstorm like that (my wife thought I was nuts and almost died laughing at me). But hey, it worked and I got to watch the 2nd half of the game.
Life was good.
I enjoyed the game yesterday. I enjoyed watching the young players who have improved this season. I thought the coaches had the team looking good. I even thought Loggains called an excellent game for the most part. It was fun. LOL, I won't get my dream of a #2 draft pick this year - but it was still nice watching the youngsters connecting the dots this year and becoming better players. Better days are coming. You can see some positives here, even in an epic year of injuries.
I got 4 tickets to the game, right at the Bears tunnel, give to me at 9 pm Saturday. I was the only one that would use them out of about 80 people. We got up went to game and made it a point not to spend a dime there. No new hats, shirts, flags, nothing this year. At 9.75 a beer or 12.00 for a hot chocolate, really for what they put on the field no thanks. Feel sorry for the vendors. Point I guess is went and still didn't give any of my money. Oh, at the end of the first half when Kaper took a knee, I didn't hear the National Anthem playing what gives? lol
