We've been talking about the trade down value of the #1 draft pick. But it will be interesting to watch if/how Brady, Lamar, Carr & Rodgers impact the QB chase in the draft this year.
LINK NFL exec predictions: Where will Rodgers, Lamar, TB12 play in 2023?
Brady is a free agent and will only sign with a team competing. I see Lamar getting tagged. Rodgers is too expensive with dead cap and Carr is the other one I see entering the market.
Carr is not that good.
There is going to be a team that is willing to trade a decent amount of picks for a chance at the best rookie qb in this draft on a 4 year rookie deal. Just one of the perks of having the #1 overall pick.
I still see us trading with the Colts. Buckner or Nelson and a few really good picks.

As I've said weeks ago, I truly believe that Brady will go home to the Bay area and sign a one-year deal with the Niners w/ an option for year two. Purdy will be his backup for a year and learn from the best.
SF will trade Trey Lance to Tennessee.
AR will go to Vegas to be reunited w/ Adams and also be closer to California.
I could see Lamar Jackson going to the Jets actually.
Carr might go to Carolina which would be bad for us because it would mean one less team interested to trade up and select a QB.
At this point I'm convinced that if we find a way to trade down, it will be w/ Indy.

Just my two cents.
You might not be far off there.
It's really amazing how things have changed. Wasn't all that long ago when QB's changing teams was a pretty uncommon thing. Now it seems like every offseason lately there are multiple big name QBs on the move.

If the cap allows it, I think Balt goes w/the FT on Jackson.

For sure--Lamar is getting tagged, count on it. That's prob why Roquan lucked out and got the deal he got--they needed to save the FT for Jackson.
used roquan as an excuse as to why they couldn't sign LJ long term yet. Probably get FT'd next year also.
Since being MVP, Lamar has come back down to earth. Hasn't really become a great pocket passer, has had injuries, and hasn't won a playoff game.
I don't think Baltimore is paying him long-term contract money until he recaptures the magic.
Correct option to take.
What he does is not long term in the NFL, it's a good way of taking way to many hits, and is shut down in the playoffs when you are likely going to end up facing a couple top defenses, that's if he can even stay healthy.
Long time ago i put a study on here that showed that once an NFL player gets hurt, they rarely ever don't get hurt again; Brady was a freak in that way also.
"The non-exclusive version was $29.7 million in 2022. If the salary cap increases by 15 percent for 2023, the non-exclusive tender will land in the range of $34 million. The exclusive version will be driven by the average of the five highest cap numbers at the position in 2023. Based on current 2023 cap numbers, that would be $45.4 million.
The difference is significant. In 2024, it would become even sharper. With a 20-percent raise, the non-exclusive franchise tender would become $40.8 million. The exclusive tender would be $54.54 million. Over two years of the tag, that’s $74.8 million under the non-exclusive tag and nearly $100 million under the exclusive tag."
