So going by Fox's old record with the Panthers and how bad his offense was, do you still consider him the HC of the future?
In the end does it matter what I think? I didn't want him hired. He's a middling coach, always has been.
I've said for awhile I won't care if he stays or if he's fired. But we, WE, shouldn't be so quick to decide what and why, b/c we mostly don't know. Just like PFF, we're just flying blind and throwing shit at the wall.
That doesn't mean you can't have an opinion, but to have a concrete judgement on a player or coach to quickly.
I think in the end Gase did not want to wait 3-4 years to take over. That is about as logical a conclusion you can make.

to fast in thinking Fox should be fired at the end of the season?
Reality says that Fox will hide behind the injuries, will Point to Hoyers stats and hopefully Barkleys good Play while pointing to Cutler blaming him. I don't see them firing a HC with Fox' history and Name. They just paid 2 HCs and a GM to not be in those positions. Pace will Keep him, Keep on rebuilding and fire him after next season. This will buy Pace one more of his 5 years before he gets doubted.
For me it's inexcusable to watch our games and how they are lost. I think 50% alone is on Coaching and the only part of the Team that Looks to at least get better and be put in a Position to succeed is Fangios D. The record gets worse and worse. Fox never, really never, worked and developed a rookie QB. Bears are scouting all Top QB prospects heavily and identify our future starter.
If Pace wants his new QB with a Top3 pick - even trading up to make sure he gets his guy - then you Need to fire Fox and hire a HC that is offensiv minded and can work with THAT QB.
2 different teams with different player, coaches, etc...seems like a pointless conversation imo
And what do you mean, German?...Fox will hide behind injuries? lmao come on man! i know we are all tired of injuries, but you can't dismiss the struggles that come with injuries just because... They are down to a 3rd string Qb, without their top two Wr's, and a makeshift O-line...it's LEGIT to point to injuries!!!
Meh. It's in the past. The Bears aren't the Dolphins and pretending that Gase would have equal success with the youthful Bears compared to the veteran Dolphins is assuming a lot.
Pretty much this! The Dolphins were underachieving in the beginning of the season. They have talent at the receiver spot, talent in the backfield, a very good o-line when healthy, and a QB who can do some things. Defensively they are more talented than we are as well. To compare one to the other isn't an apples to apples comparison. The Dolphins are a more talented team...they were that in September, and they are even more so that now with all our injuries.

I often wonder if veteran coaches bring the same energy to their 3rd or 4th team that they brought to their 1st team when they were younger men . I'd guess it's ' sometimes ' , and it depends on the personality . It's also true that experience usually makes people better at whatever they do , so you'd think that that should make the older coaches better - the flip side is it also makes some jaded and less enthusiastic which can lead to less attention to detail which actually hurts the team .
Older coaches can be the 'safer' choice , but a great young one who really knows what he's doing is the best scenario - and also the hardest one to find .

+1 That's another great point. If Bears fans live in the past it's enough to make a person crazy. We can't change the past. I'm just hoping our future is going to be better. We have a lot of new and young players, whom I am excited about for next season. In fact, I'm curious about some of them and how they do THIS season. There's still 5 games here. Yes, the season is screwed, but it's still okay to want to watch the youngsters develop.
There’s nothing like a long winning streak to change the feeling around a team and that’s certainly the case for the 2016 Miami Dolphins.
A 1-4 start to the season seemed to promise more of the same for a team that has been to the playoffs only once since the start of the 2002 season, but things turned around in Week Six. The Dolphins thumped the Steelers at home that Sunday and they haven’t looked back.
Sunday’s win over the 49ers leaves them at 7-4 and in possession of a Wild Card spot in the AFC as we move into December. The final five weeks will bring further tests for Adam Gase’s club, starting with next Sunday’s trip to Baltimore for a game that could have tiebreaker implications in that Wild Card race, but the last six weeks have provided plenty of reason to think the Dolphins can navigate them.
Link: www.bearsfansonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10613 I remember earlier in the year many were saying Gase was a nonfactor with the Dolphins. When we both had the same record but after having a 6 game win streak do you guys believe we made a huge mistake keeping Fox here and letting Gase go?
I'm certainly not privy to the HH insider meetings, but I would venture to say that based on the short time Fox was with us and the belief that the team was on it's way up that letting Fox go and keeping Gase was never on the table other than in fan forum discussions.
