why do we keep giving passes to Fields for sailing passes for int's in crucial moments?
i'm not saying he's the reason, but he should be up there. he hasn't been good at passing the last 2 weeks when they needed him to be, he has entered the conversation.
Yep, Fields is looking more and more like a RB in a QB position than a real QB.
I hope he can improve on the most important part of his game.
I told you two weeks ago that Fields was one bad hit away from getting injured. This is what happens when your QB pretends to be a RB and continues to take unnecessary hits.
Also, is no one gonna point out that Fields has had five straight games w/ less than 180 yards per game? And people are okay w/ that? Cause I remember lots of people giving Trubisky sh*t for actually better stats.
Fields is still far from being the true number one that so many in the media claim him to be.
1. Every football player is one bad hit away from getting injured. Hell...you don't even have to get hit to be injured. Teddy Bridgewater almost lost his leg on a play in practice in which all he was doing was dropping back to pass. Its football, injuries happen.
2. He's not "pretending to be a running back", he's doing whatever the frig he has to do to help this team win, and right now he's their best weapon and best chance.
3. I don't think any of us are ok with it...but perhaps you haven't noticed the dog shit at receiver not named Darnell Mooney?
4. Fields is a stud...thats not hyperbole or unfactual.

All of your post is right. But that point #2 is most important. He is doing what he has to do this year... doing what he can with what he has to work with. Next season we will get to see a more balanced QB. But this year I think this is what he can do, all he can do under the circumstances. He needs better pass protection too.
Oline was worse than normal and Getsy running an injured Fields is over the top ridiculous. Wtf was he thinking? He, more than probably anyone, needs an ass chewing by Flus. Can the oline and Getsy each get a deflated ball?
Yeah, those couple things stood out. Getsy made some dumb decisions in the 2nd half, especially late in the game, and the OL had it's worst outing in weeks.
Listening to Hoge & Jahns say it this morning, once again the Bears WRs totally blow and failed to get separation at all. N'Keal Harry, Pringle, and Pettis aren't worth the paper their contracts were printed on. None of these guys has stepped up at all this season.
It was also the 3rd straight game (and 5th overall) where a major STs fuckup turned the game. The Bears have a defense held together by duct tape and silly string with an offense that struggles mightily in the passing game due to lack of talent -- in other words, their margin for error in winning is very, very thin.
There's only one team with fewer wins in the NFL and we barely beat that team on a last second FG.
PS: Good news is we are now sitting at #3 in draft order.
Agree 100%. If we had just a couple decent wide receivers, this could have been an interesting season. My hope now is that we don’t get Fields killed out there nor blow up his confidence to the point he’s seeing ghosts.

I mean people are acting like he's making one read and then taking off and running. He's going through reads and progressions. He's taking off and running when he has to because there's no other choice OR its called for him to run. The dude is a competitior...he's not just going to throw the ball away because nobody is open(and a lot of you would be killing him for that!!), he's trying to make shit happen. This idea that he's not trying to play QB is false and lazy.

It is just depressing to see what he has to work with this year. There is nothing fans can do about the situation. But it is still very depressing.

This is false.
Explain?
The man has only had one game where he threw over 200 yards. He's sub 200 every other game. A QB's main job is to throw the ball. Now he has a dislocated shoulder. He's a RB playing at the wrong position.
I'm not saying he can't improve but get rid of the kool-aid for a second.

get rid of the kool-aid? Maybe you should get rid of the Angry Orchard. Yes, he's sub-200yards per game. Brady, Mahomes, Bradshaw or Montana wouldn't consistently get over 200 yards a game with these WRs and this OLine either.

So thats all we're looking at? Stats? Tell me you haven't watched a game without telling me you haven't watched a game. How does one throw for 200 plus when his receivers don't get separation? Since I'm apparently "drinking kool aid" explain to me HOW Fields should be routinely throwing for 200plus.

Stats are some of the most important figures when judging any player? Are they the define all? No.
We got Mooney and Claypool. As well as Monty as RB. He should be producing far more than he does with those two at WR and Monty at RB. Plus a run heavy team that can produce a lot of play action passes to open up the pass.
The modern NFL is very pass happy with rules as well.
I've seen Tom Brady bring no name WR's to the AFC Championship game in years past. Is he Tom Brady? No, but the rules have changes so much to make it easier for the QB.
