The heart and soul of the Chicago Bears, Kyle Long, will require not one, but two surgeries before making is return to the field next season.
Long, now lost for the remainder of the 2016 season, will undergo surgery on his right ankle tomorrow prior to having a second procedure to his shoulder.
The ankle surgery, which repair ligament damage, is considered “minor,” but the operation to his left shoulder will repair a torn labrum which can be somewhat of a tedious recovery. In true warrior fashion, Long has maintained he will be ready for training camp next summer, and without question Week 1.
Kyle will turn 28 on December 5 and is signed through 2021. He’s a rock that the Bears are looking to rebuild on.
So, let’s hope the bruising is not as bad as it looks and he’s back up on his feet within a few months.
