Dallas hit on a scratch off lottery ticket. I feel like there is too much comparing and expecting every other 4th round pick to be contributing like Dak. Not here, but in the sports media in general.
If Prescott was on Pace's radar, he'd be a Bear. They were trying to trade up to get Cook, just like Dallas was. But Pace had three bites at the apple in the 4th round. If he was even briefly thinking about drafting him, he'd have pulled the trigger.
And this is what worries me. It seems that Pace has a very narrow vision on QB's; he's got a good eye for top end talent, but maybe questionable on the mid/latter round talent.
Guys Dak was a late 2nd, early 3rd round talent that had a DUI which made teams pass on him, incorrectly. And Dallas won b/c of it.
I believe Pace is gun shy after signing Ray McDonald and getting grilled over it. I feel like he only drafts boy scouts now.
I think if he never signed that dude, he'd be more open to guys with a checkered past.
