The average per year and the total deal mean little. What's gonna be knocked around most is how much is guaranteed money, how is it paid, and what money is earned via various bonuses for being on the active roster and for performance.
I think it's probably a given any deal they agree to will average in the $14 mil per year range but the rest of the devil is in the details. A 4 year $56 mil deal with only $28 mil guaranteed is only a $56 mil contract for the purposes of his agents fee and for bragging rights. It's actually a 2 year $28 mil deal with team options for two more years.

The Chicago media continues to amaze me. Yes...he took responsibility...he said he took it. Him mentioning it was recommended to him doesn't absolve him, it's up to him to make sure it's ok to take...and he didn't do that...and he took responsibility for that. Further, for the millionth time...AJ is getting PAID this off season, by the bears or by someone else.

They are digging for stuff to write about. Next we'll read how Jay's "body language" drove AJ to drug addiction. Everything is Jays's fault you know :-)

Yeah, ya gotta love this just let him go by the it's only my nose so I think I'll cut it off to spite my face anyway bunch. On what planet does letting talent walk with nothing in return constitute the best way to run a football team yet that seems to be the formula here.

Thank God! It's been too long since we reviewed his pout.
