Y'all can read the article, but basically he had 6 plays in which he actually had a chance to make an impact. He had 1 pressure. Not great, but again, good game plan by the Rams.

"Only twice did Mack get a serious double team from a tight end or extra blocker"
I watch him play and I see a "good but not great" player now. There is no way you can watch his performance now, and think he's what he once was. He is a mere shadow of the dominating player who used to be a holy terror - even when teams game-planned to stop him, or at least slow him down so he wouldn't take over a game. I'm not talking about the 1 game here. He's still a good player though. But just not the dominating force he once was.
I'd say he's definitely slowed down a little, I mean, it's natural - especially with the injuries.
As I've been saying all along, it's one game. Sure, last season people were questioning him too, but the pressure was there and the defense wasn't a problem.
Obviously we all have our own opinions so I'm not gonna say your wrong for saying he's no longer elite. I'm just saying, let's wait. Donald wasn't on the stat sheet until the game was over - you know what I mean? The Bears OL and gameplay limited his impact. I don't think he's in a decline.
If the Bengals OL and scheme does the same think to Mack (and the defensive unit as a whole ), you might hear my tune change
You have to wonder if playing injured for the last year has taken its toll?
It's going to be interesting to watch the injury situation for the Bears in a longer season with players who are older now. Mack was on the injury report a week or so ago, so maybe he's playing at less than 100%. He's still a good player. A very good player.
Mack is getting older and players naturally decline with age. He also has zero help on the d line with Goldman being hurt, Hicks being hurt, and Quin being Quin. How much of this is also on the defense not coming in for camp?
When I heard the Raiders wanted to trade for Mack I would of taken it.

I would have handled this offseason differently, but maybe I wouldn't have. I wouldn't wanna mess with the butterfly effect or whatever. We have a franchise type QB, something I was not expecting. We have someone to build around. Even if this offseason was frustrating from every other aspects, I'm holding onto hope with Justin Fields. 😅
Don't forget, every other teams has years of tape on him. they have analyzed every move he's made, and scheme for it. double teams, chipping, play to the other side, etc. I think thats's why these guys get really great for a few years, then fade away. Plus, when he has no help he's all on his own against the extra blocking.

Well now that LV is in need of a back up QB perhaps we can package Foles and Mack for a free play chip at a casino of Pace's choice. Something has to wake that guy up.
