I just want o get through the game with no injuries. In fact, that is how I see he first 4 games until Fields takes over the offense. By then, both the offense and defense will be better organized. For me, that is when the season begins. If we can be 2-2 after 4 games, I am an happy camper.

+1
I think that is a realistic expectation. That is my expectation (lol, or hope) anyway. Expect the Bears to get killed in this first game. But that doesn't mean this is an 0-17 season ahead for us. This is a year where the youngsters, especially Fields, move up the learning curve and I really think 2022 will see the Bears far far far more competitive. I think there is every possibility that we could see some good Bears football after 4 or so games. Not world-beater football. My hope is to just be able to have an offense that is "watchable" rather than the clown show stuff of the past few years. I think that's a distinct possibility.

2-2 in the about the best we could hope for first 4 games. We are away at Rams and Browns in there--both teams are way better than us.
Hopefully Goldman plays another snap in our jersey... I almost forgot what he looks like
He "has a knee"... he tweaked it Monday in practice. Whatever any of that means. He's probably in the ICU.
He missed a 3rd practice so it looks like he's out for at least this game with the Rams. I'm hoping for the best in this game on Sunday night, but this is a game that could be pretty bad for us. I just hope the OL puts in a surprisingly good performance and Dalton surprises us too... LOL, surprises us in a good way not an epic bad way. One other thing. Bears fans joke about Matt Stafford, but even on crap Detroit teams he has a winning record against us, 32 TDs and 5,440 yards passing. His last game against us in December, he lit us up for over 400 yards & 34 points. That was with a stinking bad Detroit team. Now that he is on a legit team he could really light us up on Sunday night. I hope our secondary shows up.
My gut feeling is that Stafford scores 30 or more points on us. I don't think this Bears offense (in this first game anyway) can keep pace with that.
