I voted yes. But it is a qualified yes. He will be until a total stud LT drops into Pace's lap. Either as a draft choice or as an unexpected FA (like Sitton).
I do, I like the guy, shoot me. Hes my fav LT in last 10y
Bang bang, or did I miss? LOLOL
I like what I see and I like the fact that he can still get much better because he has the basic tools. Long arms and quick feet. How it eventually plays out I can't say but IMHO he's at least reduced the need to make LT a priority so we can focus elsewhere for now.
While I don't think he'll ever be a great LT, I do believe he's decent. If he's the best we do at LT, I figure we're okay.
With Jay's arm and his mobility if the OGs and OC can keep his front porch clean all Leno has to do is not give up the inside counter move. If he can take his guy around the back of the pocket nine times out ten we'll get the pass off. That was JWebbs biggest weakness.
At the very least he's the best LT we've had in about 10 years or so. There are more than just one or two top ten LT picks from recent drafts who can't handle pass blocking as well as he can. QBs and LTs are becoming two of the riskiest top ten picks these days.

Ever since he stopped making poor decisions, like wearing elbow length short sleeve t shirts under his jerseys. THAT was a terrible faux pas.
I think Leno is a short term lng term solution. Like, he is okay now, and will be okay until the middle of his extension, then he will be awful. Keep in mind I am basing this solely off of Chicago Bears' fan pessimism.
It probably depends on the system we're running. Leno seems to be working out in Fox's system though by working out I mean establishing a sub .500 record. I think his 'long term' fit with the team really depends on the direction the team heads. Assuming we keep Fox around, I think Leno is a long term solution. If a new HC enters with a new OC I'm not so certain Leno works as well.
I don't want to pretend to know a ton about the OL - cause I really have no clue - but it seems to me that many players don't transcend scheme but can excel in them. Leno may or may not fit that mold. My sense is he is dependent on scheme - at least a little.
