I did another one where I traded back from 20 to 26 and picked up a second round pick. I also trade a 2022 second & a 4th with the Jets for their second round pick. I only did 4 rounds for this draft in the effort of saving time.
26 - Greg Newsome CB - Northwestern 34 - Tevin Jenkins T Ok. State 52 - Kellen Mond QB - Texas A & M 59 - Elijah Moore WR - Ole Miss 83 - Jamin Davis LB - Kentucky
Great mock but I'm afraid Mond won't make it past 40.
Their guru says he would not draft a QB until the third round. I would be surprised if Mills or Mond get that far.
He also says Bateman is the only WR he would definitely take at 20. He says Bateman is All-Pro, 1,000yd. receiver. Amen.
Bateman has definitely risen up the boards so good call there, David. I agree that he looks like the only WR the Bears should seriously consider in the 1st among those that realistically could make it to #20.
I also agree with you that I doubt Pace will delay past round 2 in taking a QB but TBH I really have no clue what they're gonna do. High drama next week for sure.
======== Aren't you the guy who told me that Farley's back surgery was not so serious as to drop him off our board? But I read that he has had that surgery twice. By all accounts, he can become a real shutdown corner if healthy. On the other hand, Newsome is very solid himself without the health issue. If they are both off the board, then I am taking Bateman in the first round and Mond in the second, and best tackle available in third. We need Washington to take Mills ahead of us in the second round. That is maybe the only way it could work.
I just ran one and got Bateman(1), Walker Little(2), and Mond(3). I got A- grades for all those picks. I would be real happy with this result, but it does not seem likely. I think NFL GMs have a different evaluation on a lot of guys compared to where they rank on the simulator.
