Seeing this trade for Stafford. Watson will be at min 4 first round picks... Is it still worth it? I say YES
3 or 4 plus a player perhaps? Hoping Detroit doesnt do too much with those picks. Don't think Goff has much success outside of McVays offense.. wonder if DET gonna draft a QB as well.

Here are the details. I didn't know Rams didn't have a 1st round pick this year.
Yea 3-4 is going to be the request now. Det still only has 1 first round pick this year so things will be interesting.
Good trade for Lions longterm imo. Ok trade for Rams short term.
I think similar thoughts, but I'd rate it as better than OK for the RAMs.
RAMS thinking that they are not rebuilding so: (1) They shed cap, letting them retool the DEF a little. (2) QB in place with an established vet, letting them draft a prospect to sit if they want. And, interestingly, despite not drafting in the first since 2016 (Goff), they have appeared in 4 playoffs and gotten to the SB.
Lions already admitting to a 2-yr rebuild: (1) Pulling a Browns and collecting picks. (2) Going to draft a QB early and let him sit for a year or two behind Goff. (3) They also have capitol to move up and down. If they really wanted to follow CBMB team building rules, they would let Goff start and trade down this year, collecting and hoarding picks for years into the future, always waiting for that "Super QB Class" that is always coming "next year."
On the plus side for us, these teams have done what various coalitions of posters have been arguing for. RAMS went the "add a vet QB better than the one previously to a playoff team" and the LIONS did the "dump an assets for picks since we are rebuilding" route. Something to watch going forward.

4 first round picks for Watson? Hell no. Especially when you break down his #’s. He obliterates bad defenses but his numbers against top 10 Do’s are not good

Agree. Detroit is eating a big salary in this deal that starts next season, hence the draft picks to do so. I think it like 100+m with 40+ guaranteed over the next 2 years. If Goff doesn’t pan out and they can unload him in 2 years this works well with the draft picks.

Good trade? This is a GREAT trade for the Lions A+++++++
They are getting rid of a 32 year old QB with a sub .500 career win percentage who wanted out anyway. In return they are getting a 26 year old viable starter along with a 3rd round pick in this year's draft and two first round picks (2022 and 2023). IMO, this is more one sided than the DeAndre Hopkins trade

Yeah, it's interesting. Stafford has a career passer rating in the 80's like Trubisky, Foles and Cutler. He is a better QB, but he's not worth what the Rams gave for him. Sounds like a Ryan Pace type deal by the Rams. Not good. Not good at all.
