At this point the Bears only draft/sign a RB if the upgrade a RB is greater than the upgrade at another position. For example: Adding a RB improves the position above and beyond what adding another position would bring.
True and to be honest, I think the Bears has the RB position set unless there is a better RB available. I think there are other needs..
Yep, three drafts three RBs. Time to do the same with some QBs so we can eventually find a guy to step into Cutler's shoes. Monster's thinks he'll be ready for a wheel chair by next year. LOL
LOL!!! I think that Jay has at least one or more season left..
I think in every draft and rookie UDFA signing period there will always be players at skill positions like RB, WR, TE and even QB you might want to take or sign. Howard is an example of back that fell so much farther than some though he might he was almost a gift at that point.
If Pace sticks to his BPA approach I'm sure we'll see some picks that may be head scratchers as we go along. To me the only sure sign they might even take a back was when the pursued CJ Anderson and failed to land him. Prior to that I figured they'd decided Lameford was there guy.

Langford is not bad, but honestly not much more than just a guy that can play in the NFL. Good, but not ever going to be great and for sure is a guy that can be contained by a decent offense. But that's JMO

I agree, he was just a guy who backed up Forte and had a few good games as a backup. Coaches saw this and combined with Forte's age, thought Langford could step in for Forte and the OFF wouldn't miss a beat. Turns out he's just a backup running, capable of 100+ yards, but he wasn't the starter for a reason.
I want to see a full year of a healthy Langford before I declare him the third back like most people have. I still think he's a home run threat especially in the screen game. I really like Howard and think he needs to be the main back but I still like the change of pace Langford can offer.
I agree completely which is why JL should be the "3rd down passing situation" back in my mind. Howard and Carey are clearly the better between-the-tackles runners.
