Pace has been really good on D and equally really bad on O.
Bears fans have Stockholm Syndrome when it comes to offense--we are accustomed to being pathetic on O (particularly at QB), therefore we make all kinds of excuses to justify why it's "ok".
From exec of the year to meatheads questioning if he's "that guy". Hub has pointed it out, and I've heard Hoge and Jahns mention it also, he's not near as on the hot seat as fans think he is, same w/Nagy.
Guy has helped turn around an old, bad team into a div winner, and then an 8-8 team w/a plethora of key injuries. People keep bitching about his misses, but the draft isn't a safe gamble; as has been pointed out by various articles and deep dives into it.

Ric that was two years ago. We finished third place in 2019 and barely beat a backup team against the Vikings. The only key injury was Hicks and the defense still finish in the top 5. Pace's record with the Bears is a LOSING record. So what is the true problem?
Well as I pointed out Pace has been HORRIBLE with drafting talent. We only have one player from 2015. 3 players from 2016 ( Might I add most are just depth or fighting a rookie for his spot ) and 3 players from 2017 ( One being an All Pro, one being a bust QB, one being a one trick pony RB )
Look at our best unit. The D-line. Quinn ( FA ), Mack ( Traded for ), Hicks ( FA ), and Goldman ( Drafted )
You are not going to get far buying other teams FA. His willingness to throw away draft picks to move up has hurt this team.

3yrs ago? You mean 2 seasons ago? Bc last season team was 8 and 8 and the season before was 10+ and atop the div.
Regardless team reporters are saying even a bad season he is likely safe, the team is overall happy with him.

Also, with the circumstances with what is going on, I don't see any GM or Coach (Including Pace and Nagy) getting fired after this season.

I think he is safe. I think most GMs and HCs are gonna get a "Corona-pass" for this season. It's gonna take something pretty awful to get a GM/HC fired at the end of this season unless he was already firmly on the hot seat to begin with.
Regardless, Ryan Pace has sucked hard on offense during his tenure here thus far and denying the obvious doesn't change that. The recent events with Shaheen remind people and, unless he turns it around big time this season, Trubisky will be another huge reminder next spring when he's let go in FA.

I give him credit for turning around our defense which had become an abomination under Emery, Trestman & Tucker. But as good as he's been at drafting D, he's been horrible on O.
So at the end of the day, I'd say he's an average GM. Not good, not bad, just average. And there are lots of those in this league.
