Seems like Collins will demand a whole lot of money. Plus we already have two studs at ILB. Sure Danny T hasnt lived up to the expectations yet, but Freeman has. He is a bit old though, but yea. We we have our starting ILB, I dont see why we should trade a draft pick for a player postion where we are good to go.

1. We don't need him, we have two very good middle linebackers.
2. He wants to be paid more annually than Luke Keuchely
3. There's a lot of reports that he did a lot of free lancing out on the field and didn't want to perform his responsibilities within the scheme and playbook.
Those enough good reasons as to why Pace shouldn't have tried to get him?

That was my understanding as well and that he was keying on a Von Miller kind of deal when they talked extension with him. He becomes a UFA in March so if the Browns don't sign him before then he's only a rental and he'll be on the market again.
I think this was Belicheat's way of sending a message to his under performing defense that no one is safe and of all places to send Collins the Browns are almost a punishment for not playing Bill's way. Pace may not have even known the deal was happening. It seem to have caught quite a few off guard.
This Jamie Collins quote might provide insight into why Bill Belichick traded him
Collins isn't a big fan of studying football, which is kind of Belichick's thing
Which would you rather watch: college football or pro?
Neither. I didn't grow up watching football, and I still don't. Me and Chandler Jones have talked about this since I first got up here. I never watched football. I never thought I'd be here, and I'd rather play video games. I don't really want to watch it.
Well all I can say is he ended up in the perfect place. They don't watch much football in Cleveland either or at least not pro football.
