Ok, we need to get somebody, but why Cam? Wouldnt Teddy B or Mariota be more useful? I just dont know enough about Cam but that dozen of his games I've seen werent much. And he seems like a diva, but I could be mistaken
The other thing is the cap hit is 21 and it's a 1yr. You'd be trading/giving up a pick for a 1yr contract w/a high cap and the guy has had injury issues. Then again if the idea is just competition that might be perfect. find a way to absorb the cost for 1yr then if neither guy works out, draft one high next year.\
nfl network is saying no one will trade for Cam.
Of course no one is. Why trade for him when the Panthers are going to be force to let him go. Can't pay $35-$40 million for two QBs...
Here's why I don't believe it is true. Ryan Pace's seat is heating up. He desperately needs to figure out how to build an offense here in Chicago. Time is short. Any QB competition is going to be legit due to the fact Pace needs to save his job. Anyone who can QB this team best is gonna start due to that fact. Pace would be committing GM suicide if he didn't start the best QB.
I don't see why there is anything to be surprised about. Carolina was a guaranteed starting position, Chicago was not. We were going to have to pay Teddy more than teams without any competition. It's unfortunate but that's the situation as it is.
I dont buy it. For this to be true you have to believe the bears were going to offer Bridgewater multi years of starter pay and NOt give him the position. Bull. They offer him that contract the job is his and tru is out the door with floyd.

Your point is valid except for the fact that the Bears are stuck with Trubisky in 2020, like it or not. His 2020 money is guaranteed so there's nothing to gain by cutting him and no one is gonna trade for him.
Mitch isn't going anywhere this season though I do agree his ass could be planted on the bench.

Right either way there is no real competition if you are paying the other guy 20mil a year. This isn't the type of contract you are giving someone to come in and compete w/Mitch. This is the contract you are giving someone to replace him.
