Should Broncos make the move and trade for veteran QB?
DENVER -- The Broncos still have a championship defense. They have very good wide receivers. One question heading into their Monday Night Football matchup against the Texans in Week 7 is whether they can realistically win another Super Bowl with virtually zero experience at quarterback. The Broncos get another shot to evaluate their 2016 prospects when Trevor Siemian starts against the Texans. Siemian and Paxton Lynch have long-term promise. They are the future. But the championship window for this defense will not stay this wide open forever, and if the Broncos' offense continues to sputter, a short-term move for Tony Romo or Jay Cutler before the Nov. 1 trading deadline should be a consideration, at least.
There are salary-cap implications and other considerations when deciding whether to make a bold move for a quarterback in the middle of the season (Denver could really use left tackle Joe Thomas if Cleveland trades him, but that's another subject for another day). Broncos general manager John Elway has shown no fear in making aggressive moves. He always seems to get the last laugh, and if Siemian outplays Brock Osweiler on Monday night, would anyone be surprised? But as the Broncos look at their offensive film from their current two-game losing streak, they will see the growing pains that often come with having a first-year starter behind center.
But I thought the with Broncos elite DEF anyone could play QB and win a SB. Is that not true?
Cutler should be traded to the first interested party. It seems pretty clear that the Bears are ready to cut ties with Cutty. Ditch him while the getting's good. Denver, Arizona, KC, NYJ, Buffalo, any team who has a legit shot at the playoffs and has a quarterback need now OR has one prior to the trade deadline should be interested in Cutler and the Bears should be interested in ditching him.

I'm not suggesting don't trade him, just surprised after all we read on the various boards about QB being an after thought in some people's minds to an elite DEF. Seemed like any Joe could be dropped in and win a SB because the Denver DEF was that elite.

The Denver D is pretty fucking amazing. Still, having a better offense would help that team in a fairly competitive division. I hope Cutler rejoins the Donkeys though it's hard to imagine Elways - daddy Donkey - signing Cutler. I keep hoping Carson Palmer gets injured as I think Arizona is the perfect fit for Cutty.

Hell if Cutler goes to Arizona, he will probably do better.. Ask Kurt Warner..
I think it'd be a great fit for both Cutler and the Cards. Also think it makes sense for Arizona bc any draft pick they trade will come toward the end of each rd.
