Carson Palmer was traded to the Raiders when he was 32 and they gave up a 1 and a 2 for him. It was one of the stupidest trades ever made. It was also made at a time when Al Davis had just died and the direction of the franchise was in flux. I really doubt any other organization would do that or anything like that.
Career-wise Cutler and Palmer aren't that different though as Palmer really only had one good year with the Bengals and the rest was pretty mediocre. A more likely scenario is when Oakland traded Palmer to Arizona who gave up a 6th round and another conditional pick.
Using that Cutler's trade value is probably a 5th or 6th at best. If he does well the rest of the season that could change to a 4th or even a 3rd, although that's pushing it.

That's pretty much how I see it. Pace will be lucky to get even a mid-round pick for him. This talk about him bringing more than that is pie-in-the-sky stuff IMO.

Well, this is how the Cutler era ends, not with a bang but a whimper.....
I had hopes a long time ago of the Bears building a team around a good but flawed QB. I dreamed of regular playoff games, I dreamed of a SB appearance AND a win. I envisioned a DEF able to cover mistakes, an OFF that could score in a hurry if it had to while building a strong play-action running game, and a team that would use the rare chance of not having to draft a QB for 8+ years in order to build a team through the draft. JA, then Emery and it appears now Pace have totally wasted that chance. This team will be worse when Cutler leaves (not because Cutler is leaving, just in overall terms) than when he joined. Now the Bears will enter the QB Sweepstakes, trying/hoping that the next QB will be the one, while at the same time hoping to rebuild a DEF, build an OFF, and leverage a strength (OL) into something positive that can be built on. I wish Jay the same thing I hope for other former Bears..success except when he is playing Chicago.
Of course, Pace could not draft a QB this year, and the Bears go into the next season with Cutler/Hoyer/Shaw as the QBs. Can't you see the interview now?
Reporter: Why no QB this year? Pace: Well, the draft came to us differently that we had expected and we picked up ___________ and we think he will be a situational pass rusher going forward. And then with all the trades around us, players we had ranked higher fell to us and we picked up value at OT and S on day two. Day three saw players going off the board all over the place and we felt that no QB offered us the same return as Jay and Brian. Conner is recovered from his leg injury and should provide real push at the position. Reporter: Thanks. Just to recap with the draft just now ending, the Bears after trades ended up with 9 draft picks, and have added an OLB, S, ILB, NT, and 2 CBs for the DEF, along with a PR/KR, RB, G and OT for the OFF. John Fox says the reason another WR wasn't drafted after Jeffery left in FA was that the club is happy with the progress White has made since his injury and with Meredith assuming the role of #2.

That all sounded plausible to me when it comes to how the Bears draft . Scary isn't it ?

If we get a 2nd, I'd be all for it. Would allow us to trade up and back into the 1st round to take a QB later while the better - our 1st - will go to the Def or a LT
Not even the worst run organization in the NFL would give up a 1st round pick for Cutler. I'm not even sure if a Cutler fan was running a team that they would give up a 1st.
That's cause the Raiders have a good young quarterback.
