This just hit twitter and it seems that Leno (and possibly others) are getting their contracts restructured. The poster (@bearlissimo1) is part of the BearsBarroom bunch and has been covering the Bears for years.
Very interesting. It could be anything, but ya gotta wonder if they are going to make a big move now believing that THIS is the year. The future is now. Super Bowl or bust.
he moved 7mil from this year to the followling years. Rumor is it might be for Whitehair, but no one knows. Will make things tighter in the future.
I'm a little confused. Pace already had ~ $14m in cap space to work with which is more than adequate to extend Whitehair (an event I expect to happen soon).

I don't see why they needed to restructure Leno.
maybe a couple re sign's? maybe a bigger move coming?
I've been seeing a lot of stuff like the following. All speculation mind you.
Yeah, I was talking about OT depth early in TC and why I thought the Sowell-TE-transition thing was a dumb idea. Since then, the Bears other backups at OT haven't looked very good in the 1st 2 PS games and Coward has a wrist injury.
However, I can't see how freeing up more cap space (I read Bears now have > $20m) will help this problem at this late stage. Decent Tackles are hard to come by even early in the offseason during FA. Teams don't just cut quality OTs including backups. The ones that do get cut aren't very good and don't cost much. And I can't see the Bears trading for an "expensive" Tackle to ride the bench as a reserve.
