Bears Schedule Ranked the Toughest in the NFL

We have this discussion every single freakin August.

Predicting "strength of schedule" is at best a vague guess.  Usually it turns out very very different than the preseason forecasts.  Couple points:

1) No one has any clue what the vast majority of teams will be once the scores actually start to count.  Every year there are teams most people think will be good who turn out to be not so good.  Every year there are teams who are thought to be mediocre or even bad who turn out to be good.  Keeping it close to home, lots of people predicted a year ago that Minnesota and Green Bay would be serious contenders.  The finished a combined 14-16-2.  Few (including most here) predicted the basement dwelling Bears would be anything better than a 7 win team.  Instead they went 12-4 and probably would have made the SB if they had had a reliable kicker.

2) People seem to forget that your division rivals play the EXACT SAME OPPONENTS as you do for 14 of the 16 games of the season.  There's only 2 games that differ.  Our two this year are New Orleans (prob tough opponent but at home and not in the dome which is a big difference) and the Rams (whom we beat last year).  

I remember mid-season last year lots of guys here bemoaning how "tough" and "brutal" our schedule was in that we had to play 3 straight divisional games in only 11 days during November, including a short week game on the road.

The Bears went 3-0.

At this point, it is basically just clickbait. They are never right about any of their predictions. They make wild guesses about rookies and players. We won't know for 8 weeks or so who are the top tier teams.
