(1) Will the Bears eliminate or at least reduce the costly mistakes on offense that have kept them from putting points on the board?
The Bears rank ninth in the NFL in total yards (372.4 per game) but just 30th in scoring (17.0 per game). The discrepancy is due in large part to key penalties that have stalled drives.
(2) Will the Bears play better complementary football by forcing more turnovers on defense?
Another reason the Bears gain a lot of yards but don't score a ton of points is because their offense rarely if ever gets to take advantage of a short field following a takeaway.
(3) Will veteran backup Brian Hoyer continue to excel in place of the injured Jay Cutler?
Since Cutler sustained a sprained right thumb in a Week 2 loss to the Eagles, Hoyer has become the first quarterback in Bears history to pass for at least 300 yards without an interception in three straight games. His 397 yards last Sunday against the Colts were the most ever by a Bears quarterback in a game without an interception.
(4) Will the Bears win back-to-back home games and continue Jacksonville's woes on the road?
The Bears haven't won consecutive games at Soldier Field since Nov. 16 and 23, 2014, when they beat the Vikings and Buccaneers by identical 21-13 scores. After going 1-7 at home last season, the Bears can improve to 2-1 this year after losing to the Eagles and beating the Lions.
(1) Will the Bears eliminate or at least reduce the costly mistakes on offense that have kept them from putting points on the board? I expect to still see mistakes made, but hopefully fewer mistakes - and certainly not at key moments in the game that kill drives and prevent us from scoring.

(2) Will the Bears play better complementary football by forcing more turnovers on defense? If the D can put more consistent pressure on the QB, then yes. The key word here is "consistent" because it seems like the pass rush can sometimes put good pressure on the QB, but then they give the guy way too much time - and the QB takes advantage of that and just kills us.

(3) Will veteran backup Brian Hoyer continue to excel in place of the injured Jay Cutler? Yes, but he will make some mistakes too. If he does anything wrong, the fans will over-react as they did last week though. The guy is going to make SOME mistakes. All QB's do, in every game. The key is to limit the mistakes enough to win.

(4) Will the Bears win back-to-back home games and continue Jacksonville's woes on the road? I predict that we win this game. I also predict that the fans will continue to do the "Chicken Little" thing anyway, and want everyone fired and will piss and moan about the players. It's gonna be a long season for this "Sky is Falling" sentiment with the fans.
This is a team that is probably 2/3 of the way through the rebuild. Two years through a three year project. On top of that it is decimated with injuries to key players we need to have playing. I thought about this yesterday. It's like cooking a great entree but you don't have 1/3 of the needed ingredients - and - you pull the thing out of the oven after 2/3 of the cooking time. The dish would be raw and taste like crap. But if you finalize the dish by putting in the final 1/3 of the ingredients, and cook it all the way to completion - then - you can have something good.
I see this rebuild as being like that dish. Fans want to judge the team and coaches before all of the rebuilt roster is complete. Like that dish, the team isn't "there" yet. It won't be this year. Deal with it.
I must admit, this is the 2nd game this year, DAL was one, with which I have a bad feeling. I feel like were gonna lose and not by small margin. This is pretty unusual for me, cos im an optimistic homer

You could be right. I honestly don't know what to expect as far as winning or losing. But I do expect to see the players continue to look like what they are - it's a team of new/young/and backup players, playing in a rebuilding year who will continue to make their share of mistakes.

And I posted this injury report in the other thread, but it probably is relevant here also. On top of all of the other things, we have this to deal with:
And with White out, and Alshon struggling a bit, it's just not good. Not good at all.
IMO, we have a personnel mismatch. Jeffrey is a long threat. White also should be rather than being used on short yardage catches. We do not have a QB that is good at the long ball. It just is a bad scenario.

I said this before, I can care less about the record.. I want to see some improvement from the players (which I'm seeing). Just as long the Bears put up a fight and don't roll over. But I do want to see the DL improve and have a better pass rush and less mistakes..
I still don't have a handle on what to expect. Hoyer could go 19-45 with 2 picks and less than 170 yards while the DEF picks Hoyer 4 times and Royal scores on a punt return. Bears win 36-15.
On the other hand we could see the Colts game again. Lots of OFF, no points, and a DEF breakdown lead in to a 32-28 loss.
