Nagy kicked Long out of practice after his second fight with a teammate. Then he took it a step further and did not allow him to travel with the team to New York. Did Nagy do the right thing here?

We don't know all the details so it's just speculation at this point. I'll say this though. I'm happy Coach Nagy doesn't shy away from disciplining his players, something that Trestman never did and he ended up losing control over the entire locker room. If you can't control yourself in practice I doubt you will during a regular season game. Good for Nagy showing some strength.

Personally I am not worried about Long. He has been one of the good guys on this team since he was drafted. My guess is he was having a really bad day and regrets what he did before being disciplined.
Long does seem like a good guy. He's always been a hyper-emotional guy and properly channeled that's not a bad thing in football. I really hope he accepts the discipline well, and moves on. I'll bet if he just was honest with the guys and said he was sorry about it, that they would be 100% fine and it would quickly be forgotten. We all fly off the handle at times. When I read about this, my first reaction was to think we sure don't need any stupid injuries inflicted needlessly by something like this (beating a teammate with his own helmet), and we DO need the team to be a team... can't have our veteran leaders become head cases. We don't need the distraction.
Yeah, I'm sure it's going to be just a small bump in the road and Long will handle this well. I sure hope so anyway.
Long is a warrior and his teammates know it. He crossed the line, they (including him) all know it, but they also know in a game situation that gets chippy, he’s the first guy on offense to jump in and defend his teammates.
