You want to draft a pass rusher in the first b/c you have some weird demented theory that you can follow the Den/NE model that doesn't work unless you draft a HoF qb late, or have one fall in your lap in FA.
That isn't going to happen so your theory goes out the window. btw, anyone that thinks Hoyer is the 5th best qb this year is out of their flipping mind. Who are these grades from PFF?

Yep PFF
Sorry but these QBs don't look good at all this year. While Garrett looks to be the true #1 pick. We're already 0/2 with projects going in the first. Time to get a real player to be day 1 ready. That's Garrett.
If Den/NE model doesn't work why are they such a dominated team?
Yes We heard that about Wentz this year, and Mariotta and Winston the year before that. This years class is not as bad as the 2013 nfl draft for qb's. And easily could match the 2015 class; possibly do better.
I'm all for going BPA, if that's QB fine, if that's DE or another position i'm fine w/that also. There is no clear #1 draft pick in next years class.
Hoyer played not to look bad and has done a hell of a job but he hasn't played great. He's left a lot of scores on the field; and that's against bad defenses. He's not even an answer for the qb next season.

Hoyer just doesn't have an NFL caliber arm. He seems like a journeyman trying his best to hang on in the NFL with a noodle-arm. He seems like he has the brain though. We need to transplant his brain into Cutler's body.

At this point, I would say frack it and start Matt Barkley.. Just to see what he has.

LOL, agree
Since we are going to have a top-10 pick almost for sure, maybe even top-5, my offseason plan is:
A) Trade Cutler for whatever you can get for him. Literally. Don't expect much. A pick of some kind. Anything B) Sign the best pass rusher you can in FA. We have the cap space. Houston and McPhee are prob gone anyway. C) Re-sign Jeffery. WR is set. D) Move Fuller to FS. 2017 is his last on his rookie deal so see if he can be that ballhawking cover FS we desperately need. Safety corps is Amos and Fuller starting with HJQ/DHC/Bush as backups E) Re-sign Hoyer as the #2 with Shaw as #3 F) #1 draft priority is QB. If there's no one there Pace likes, trade for Garropolo G) #2 draft priority is RT. Cut Massie of course. H) #3 draft priority is CB

Have you looked at Hoyer stats this year?
71.4 CMP% 1,094 yds, 6 TDs 0 Int 108.5 QB rating
That's just this season. Hoyer is doing great.
Too bad fantasy football numbers don't mean anything in the real NFL.

Glad Whitehair is doing great but that was THE most backassed way to get a freaking center. Plus if Grasu can't beat him out that plan is scrapped as well. Sheesh!
