I am excited to see how he does this weekend. An undrafted kid out of Illinois State (a QB his first two years at ISU) who was a long shot to make it in the NFL. He seems to have great size and hands. Hope he has a stellar day.
Expect Cameron Meredith to Fill in Well for Kevin White
There is one silver lining to Kevin White’s injury — the Bears are forced to evaluate and groom Cameron Meredith.
It will all hinge on how Cameron Meredith responds to the extra reps. His first long look in a Chicago Bears’ uniform comes against a shaky Indianapolis Colts pass defense. That should make Meredith a sneaky play in fantasy football leagues as well.
Cameron Meredith made the Bears last season as an undrafted rookie, and he has impressed the Bears’ coaching staff ever since.
What Meredith has is size. The Bears list him at 6’3″, which is the same height as star Alshon Jeffery. Like Jeffery, Meredith can make a couple of tough catches in the middle of the field, as well as along the sidelines.
I have a real bias towards skill players who used to be QBs. IMO former college QBs who become WRs or TEs can have a really high football IQ and I think it shows with Meredith.

+1 He only played WR beginning his junior year at ISU. He then went on to lead the team in receptions that year and his senior year - and I think he set one all-time school record for receiving. He's been a die-hard Bears fan since he was a kid. He has outstanding football IQ, athleticism, great hands and he has good size too at 6'3".

And he may be the kind of WR who can get on the same wavelength as his QB and will adjust a route they way the QB needs as he can think like a QB.
It's another golden opportunity on a team that's handing them out left and right . He can secure himself some cred by simply catching the ball - if he has too many drops then tough spit . You gotta take ur lumps in this league , but if you do , you can make a name for yourself - just look at what taking lumps did for Tommy Waddle .

I agree and I think this is where Meredith is way ahead of White just as I see Miller as a smarter receiving TE than Marty Bennett will ever be. IMHO Meredith should have been starting over White anyway just as Howard should have been starting over Langford.
We'll know soon enough I guess. Meredith may not have White's legendary speed but to be honest I haven't seen any of that from White anyway. Not when your averaging just 9-10 ypc. If nothing else Meredith should prove to be a more dependable target now.
