And once again an NFL team is trying to copy the Rams in the hopes of getting the same type of McVay's pixie dust.
Not saying this is a bad hire but I think it would have been smarter to wait another two weeks and interview more candidates. The bigger the pool, the better the chances of finding the one that's right for you.

I'm not saying you're wrong with anything you said (in fact you may be right), just going to play devils' advocate: 1. It's a copy cat league... Look at all the teams that have had success and the coaching tree that develops.. Some trees fruitful (Bill Walsh tree) and some not (BB tree).. 2. They interviewed like a dozen guys. If you see a guy you want there's no sense in waiting until everyone else is done putting assistants together. Hiring the right assistants is just as important as the right HC and the right GM... No one better than Bears fans knows that...
