It is possible that Cutler is the better QB but Hoyer fits in better for what the Bears need now. Cutler is a gambler and a risk taker a nice way of saying he makes bad decisions). But Hoyer appears right now to be the better game manager. With the DEF still finding its way, a game manager might have more value than a gambler.
+1 I went back and re-read your post. All good points. But this part in particular stood out to me as being a good explanation of the situation. I thought about it this morning after re-reading your post... maybe this is the "type" QB we need right now. Not permanently. But just right now. No sane person is going to believe Brian Hoyer (or Jay Cutler for that matter) is a great QB. They both have their faults and strengths. But maybe the type guy we need most right now IS a game manager type QB.
And my only concern is...historicially Hoyer has never been a game manager QB. In the two seaons prior to this year as a starter, he's had 25 starts and 30 TOs (INT + fumbles). He is going to turn the ball over. He's also an 8 year vet, he's not going to suddenly 'get it.' Sam as Cutler, who never 'got it.' Cutler isn't regressing, he's always been a TO machine. 1.7 per game for his career.
I get it that people suffer from irrational Cutler hatred, I suffer from irrational Fox hatred. And I understand that in Chicago the favorite QB is always the backup. Would I start Hoyer over Cutler? Maybe. Maybe not.

Could it be that maybe the rest of the O side feels more at ease with Hoyer? I mean the OL knows what Cutty can/can't do and it falls on them if they don't block fast enough, slide inside, and such things? With Hoyer there just play.... sounds a bit silly but maybe they feel better with Hoyer behind them.... I know if I had to choose a guy behind me with his head down and hands up my arse I think i would like the guy that is more calm and not jerky..

Ok, I understand you and feel the same as you do! But lets take a look at our O, who can be pissed with Jay? we're longtime fans, of course we're pissed, but our Oline... we have only 2 guys there who were here last year! rb's are all pretty new, hardly pissed... Zach and Alshon are his fav targets, dont think they mind him, White is new, Royal likes him... So, I dont think its that probably
