I've been seeing stuff like this on twitter and on the various news feeds. I don't know if Cam I shaving trouble picking up the Saints offense or if just the lack of practice time has held him back.
Meredith mostly played with backups in Saturday's preseason win over the Chargers, ESPN.com's Mike Triplett reports.
Working his way back from last year's ACL tear, Meredith has yet to catch a pass on 48 snaps this preseason, with his most noteworthy moment being a drop that turned into an interception. Meanwhile, rookie third-round pick Tre'Quan Smith has caught 11 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown, making a strong case for a Week 1 role. There was some thought Meredith might push Ted Ginn for the No. 2 WR job, but it now seems more likely that the former Bear will need to battle just to keep the No. 3 spot. The battle for snaps behind top target Michael Thomas likely will continue throughout the season.

Looks like Cam will be inactive today.
If you go on a couple of the saints boards and/or watch the discussions of Cam on twitter, the Saints fans are starting to say things like "Maybe Pace had a better handle on his injury than we did".

Not surprised by this at all. Still cannot believe anyone was upset they didn't keep him after they got all those other targets. Only reason they gave him the low ball tender was just in case one of their main targets couldn't be had.
Cam when healthy is a nice depth piece, maybe a #2 if the team needs him to be, but on a real team w/real weapons he's not essential.

I hope he does well, but it was a classic over-evaluation by the fan base. He was the best WR on the team after Jeffery left, and losing the year to injury simply made fans mis-remember what kind of player he actually is/was.
