If our offense can be relied on to score at least 2 TDs in the second half (and eat up some clock) it should really take a lot of pressure off the defense.
For sure, we constantly ran against 8 man fronts and with little to no help from our offense we still fielded a top 10 defense. If our offense can eat up some clock and give our D some rest we dont even need high scoring crazy O because our defense will play at a way higher level rested.
I forget what year it was but we wasted some of the most dynamic defensive play I've ever seen, that year when we had all those returns for touchdowns like back-to-back games and stuff but our defense just couldn't do it for the length of the entire year because our offense just constantly went three-and-out
How many times over the last few years have we had a lead at the end of the 3rd quarter or gotten a lead some where in the middle of the 4th quarter and we could not just string 3 or 3 first downs together?
I don't have the games or the game logs memorized but as my memory has it, it was at least 2 - 4 games each season for the last 2 or 3 seasons.
