I don't know all of them but what I've read is that he was not very coachable being a 5 star recruit and all so he tended to play his own way not as he was coached to play. Think Brandon Merriweather type. Classic underachiever.
grain of salt as it's LSU and those coaches make everyone look like an underachiever imo
Let's hope that's true. If the current Kevin Tolliver loses the "attitude" and becomes coachable we may eventually end up with either a good CB or a FS. He's still a project though and will be even more of one if he won't accept coaching. One issue I saw in his vids which could become a problem in the NFL was a ton of downfield contact he'll get flagged for at this level. Let's just say he's a work in progress who could become a very good player some day.
Overview Toliver was a top-rated recruit who was largely disappointing relative to expectations at LSU. However, his play showed improvement this season and he has the size and physical ability that teams are typically willing to bet on. Toliver lacks premium ball skills but his size and physicality could be a good match for a zone-heavy unit or with a potential move to safety. Toliver's value lies more in his traits than his production and teams will have to weigh his future potential against his past history -- both on and off the field.

"He's got an entitled attitude, no doubt. He was a five-star coming out and they say he has had an ego to match since he's been there. Looks great and workout will be good, but he's not good enough for me to overlook the other stuff." -- NFC regional scout
Not getting drafted may be the best thing that ever happened to him. The 2nd best thing could be landing on a team with a good locker room of guys who can help him get his head out of his ass and realize talent alone gets you nowhere in the NFL. Everybody has talent in the NFL. Gotta have the brain and work ethic to go with that talent. We've sure seen a ton of young people throw away their talent on a failed NFL career because their head was not screwed on right.

Give that he was ranked as an early 3rd day pick hopefully you're right. Coming to LSU and playing in a program like he did this kid has cost himself millions of dollars so far. At what point in time he wakes up and realizes it I can't say but he won't last long on the Bears if he keeps that kind of an attitude.

One of the other issues with Toliver is he has been battling a hamstring injury all during the Pro Day and Combine workouts. He reinjured it in the Rookie Mini Camp as week or so ago.
If he has a problem shaking off a soft tissue injury, his chances of making the team really drop.
