In the modern 365-day news cycle of the NFL, mock draft season never ends. (Well that would be problem #1 in my world. It's like this Presidential Campaign that never ends either)
Days after the 2018 NFL Draft concluded, mock drafts for 2019 were already in the works, and even the big names like Todd McShay couldn’t resist.
He has the Chicago Bears picking second-overall in 2019, using early projected records from Football Outsiders rather than his own predictions. (Oh come on. More than one source calls them the most improved team in the NFL and Football Outsiders sees them winning just 3 game again? Outside of what.....Earth?)
With that Top 5, pick, McShay paired the Bears with the top projected pass rusher in the upcoming class.
2. Chicago Bears Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State*
Yes, he is the younger brother of Chargers DE Joey Bosa. And yes, he can also rush the passer and stop the run (8.5 sacks, 16 TFL last season).
All concerns about the draft order aside, Bosa has the makings of a game-changing playmaker on the edge that any defense would love to have.
At this point, he isn’t expected to last beyond the Top 5, but an entire season of college football could change everything.
(THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN INTERRUPTED BECAUSE IT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE)
Didn't they(the early mocker's) have the Bears picking 1st overall 2 years ago, and top 5 this year? The Bears will be lucky to be picking top 10 next year, let alone 3; or does he have them trading up to #2?
Agreed. Kinda like estimating the yield of a corn crop in the year 2029.
You're saying we're still gonna be here in 2029?
Well some things will survive Grizz. Right now my bets are on cockroaches, Twinkies, and Fender Telecaster Guitars. I've invested heavily in the latter.
