Meh......don't like Landry at #8 at all. IMHO that would be a huge "overdrafting" of a second tier edge guy. He's just not that complete as a player to warrant that pick.

Well like he said, he's going off need and what he would do as gm, not what the gm might/will do for that team. There just aren't any good edge rushers outside of Chubb, and no OL worth taking after Nelson. I wasn't thrilled by Landry either, imo you go w/the best ceiling guy in the top 10, and that's Edmunds, imo.
If your 2 biggest needs are edge or OL, hard to argue for or against anyone after Chubb and Nelson. My guess is if Kollman was doing trades he would likely have the Bears trading down and the pick being similar and a team like Buffallo or AZ or some other team wanting a qb moving up.
If 3 qb's go before us (and I think that is probable), we could be an interesting trade partner for qb no.4
I would swap with Buffalo (#8 for #12) for their 2nd round pick (#53). It is bit lopsided towards us (receive 370 value points for 200), but if it would get Buffalo Josh Allen or Mason Rudolph, Buffalo might think it worthwhile.

I’m ok with Landry even if he’s “a mid/late 1st round pick”. That’s just the projection of some draft gurus. Question is this: will he make it to your 2nd round spot? If not, and you like him, you take him in 1. Landry is an edge rusher and edge rushers get drafted high and are rarely available in FA. Like it of not, that’s the way it is.
He’s been comp’d to Beasley and if we had taken him instead of blowing a top-10pick (White) on a position that very rarely warrants it, we wouldn’t be in this mess at OLB right now.
With one day to go before the draft, im down to Nelson, Landry, and Edmunds as my top 3.

I doubt it. People keep saying that and ignoring that teams #6 thru #10 are no threat to draft QB and every GM knows that. The Bears sit smack dab in the middle of that 5 team pack so what makes the 8th pick so special?

It's the teams behind Buffallo that might be willing to move in front of them that might scare them into jumping. *see Bears last year moving up for Trubs.
