The 2018 NFL Draft hats were revealed by New Era Tuesday and received mixed reviews. This year’s style features team slogans instead of logos. They’re pretty shocking at first glance.
While the Chicago Bears’ most popular team phrase is ‘Da Bears,’ they don’t own its copyright. Instead, that belongs to the University of Arizona and it won’t appear on their hat.
The Bears’ draft hat will read ‘Monsters of the Midway,’ a wordy phrase for such a limited space.
As a result, Chicago’s lid was deemed fourth-worst in the NFL by CBS Sports.
4. Chicago Bears
First, let me say that I do love the “Monsters of the Midway” nickname. However, what I don’t love is when someone tries to cram the entire thing on to the top of a hat with a team logo. There’s way too much going on there.
No matter how big or loyal a Bears fan you are, it’s OK to admit that this hat is hard to get used to. Yes, we’ll all buy it. But it’ll take a little courage to wear it in public after draft weekend.
