We chose Shea over Jones, Harrison Smith and Whitney Mercilus. Just saying...
And yes, I would definitely do this trade on draft day. We would get a proven OLB who still has a few years left and two decent picks.
But according to Phil Emery wasn't Shea was supposed to be our new "Monster of the Midway". LOL Some monster. Mouse was more like it. The only fond memory I have of him is those three sacks of Rodgers in one game.
Blowing a pick once was bad enough but not jumping the Rams for Aaron Donald was inexcusable since he could have done it for a couple of mid round picks who aren't even on the team any longer as far as I know.
That is an amazingly 1 sided deal for chicago and they would be stupid not to do it
Yep, but you can't say one sided deal never get done when a feeding frenzy for a hot player or position begins.
Also as I pointed out Jones cap cost climbs significantly after this year as does Bradford's if they plan to keep him. So either they draft another QB this year or next or they'll be stuck hiring vets they may have to overpay.
We'd be taking on a ton of cap money but to get Jones in his prime at age 28 and for at least 2-3 more years would be pretty nice and then still have a top 20 pick in round one and a second in round two to offset the loss of our third?
