I think I'd like to spend some time with fullback Matt Suhey. I know he's not one of the famous Bears, but I loved watching him play. He was always there blocking for Payton, and he was often the guy who would make a great play when defenses were keying on Walter. He could catch, run & was a superb blocker in front of Payton. He scored our first TD in the super bowl win. And he took care of Walter when he was dying. He would have all the inside scoops on the glory years of the Bears.
I thought of that too JABF but I worry about stories I do not want to hear about Payton. So because of that reason alone I held him out.
It sounds like those two were best buds until Walter died. I'll bet he'd have some good stories (nothing bad). That was an era in the NFL that had some incredible teams and players... kind of a "golden age" for football. But I'll bet Matt wouldn't talk about Walter good or bad. It is probably something he doesn't want to talk about now because it would bring up a lot of emotion and memories for him.
