Guys like Nelson/Barkley/Chubb/Fitzpatrick aren't likely to fall when you look at the teams needs that are sitting ahead of them. Could they be there, sure but banking on it would be foolheartly at best. Here's a few that could be there though.
Da'Ron Payne
NFL COMPARISON Brandon Williams
BOTTOM LINE Payne possesses one of the most impressive combinations of strength and athleticism that we've seen from an interior lineman. He will be the premier run-stuffer in this draft, but he may have enough in the pass rushing toolbox to project as a better pro than college pass rusher. Payne is a game-ready starter who immediately upgrades a defense's ability to slow the run. If teams view him as just a run-down player, then his draft value could fall a little, but he could become a Pro Bowl defender early in his career.

Payne was absolutely dominant against Clemson. Then he took that dominance to another level in the national title game. Against the run, Payne is as refined as any defensive lineman in the class, as he plays with proper leverage, anchoring strength and NFL-caliber block-shedding ability. He flashed getting to the passer in the playoffs too, which was the only knock on his game. Oh, and Payne will only be 20 when he's drafted.

Payne had 47 tackles, two sacks and a pass batted in 2017. He was superb, showcasing his freakish speed and athleticism. Payne was a tremendous run defender all year, shutting down his gap and keeping teams from running the ball on Alabama. When the Crimson Tide let him rush the passer, Payne demonstrated the ability to collapse the pocket and pressure the quarterback as well. He was superb in the playoff games against Clemson and Georgia.
Payne gets rave reviews all over the scouting community. In speaking with some general managers who have scouted Alabama, they think Payne and Minkah Fitzpatrick are legit studs for the NFL. Payne looks like the rare nose tackle who has top-25 potential.
*NT might not be seen as a need, but the Bears spent a lot of time in a 4-3 sub package(I've heard as much as 70% last year) and This guy next to Goldman and Hicks would create real issues. In a base 3-4 I think Goldman has proven he has the pass rush ability to get after the qb from the edge and I have no doubt could lock it down against the run.
Orlando Brown
NFL COMPARISON Max Starks
BOTTOM LINE Tackle with rare size and length whose massive frame can work for him in pass protection and against him in the run game. Brown will be tough for some evaluators to back because his footwork isn't always pretty and his athletic ability is below average, but he typically gets guys blocked and he clearly understands how to use his size and length to his advantage. Brown's physical traits and nasty demeanor give him a chance to become a good starting tackle on either left or right side.

Brown is one of the best offensive tackles in this draft class, and there's a real possibility he's a top 10 pick, if not top five. He's a mountain of a man who checks in at six-foot-eight and 345 pounds. He's also an athletic freak that has all the makings of what NFL teams will consider to be a possible "franchise tackle." Something extremely valuable for teams looking to protect those precious commodities known as "franchise quarterbacks."
Brown was a unanimous first-team All-America selection this season, as well as a finalist for the Outland Trophy. He started every game for Oklahoma over the last three seasons.
walterfootball.com/draft2018OT.php
Brown is a strong blocker at the point of attack, which was illustrated by him consistently tossing defenders to the ground for Oklahoma. In pass protection, Brown has some athletic issues, like playing too high for the NFL, so speed rushers give him problems. Some team sources feel Brown should move inside to guard as a pro, but others believe that he will be a starting right tackle
*I wanted to point this out b/c the last top 10 pick that turned into an pro bowl lvl OG was originally drafted as a RT and started training camp as a RT, Schreff, so if the Bears feel this way, it's worth a shot to give him a look at RT and then move to OG if it's not working out;. Or just throw him in at OG and see how it all goes.
Josh Jackson
Jackson became a national name in 2017 by finishing as the nation's leader with eight interceptions and 26 passes defended. He earned first-team AP All-American and first-team All-Big Ten honors as a 13-game starter with 48 tackles, a forced fumble, and a blocked kick.
Had mind-blowing ball-hawking season with 27 passes defensed including eight interceptions. Tall with long arms. Allowed 41.3 percent completion rate. Made a play on 25.7 percent of his targets. Makes his own fortune. Instincts are top-notch. Plays the ball and not the man. Flashed supreme ball skills.
One-year wonder. Has just 14 career starts. Early opener from press. Needs more experience and more patience.

Jackson, a Thorpe Award finalist for top defensive back, is projected as the top corner in the upcoming draft and the 18th overall prospect, according to CBS Sports' Chris Trapasso. Jackson finished the year with an FBS-best eight interceptions, three of which came in Iowa's huge 55-24 win over Ohio State. The following week, he notched two pick-sixes against Wisconsin.
walterfootball.com/draft2018CB.php
In speaking with a director of college scouting, they had Jackson as the highest-graded cornerback for the 2018 NFL Draft. It is easy to understand why Jackson is held in such high esteem as he had tremendous ball production in 2017 with eight interceptions and 18 passes broken up to go along with 48 tackles. Evaluators like Jackson's size to go along with his speed and athleticism. With his skill set and production, Jackson could be the first cornerback off the board in the 2018 NFL Draft.
*Top rated CB in the draft, but 3rd rated DB, Fitz could and probably will play both though so lets say 2nd cb 3rd db. This guy + Fuller on a FT + Prince on a short term deal would be a pretty nice problem to have.
