The article is not clear if he had both his hand and shoulder done or if he decided to stay with the bum hand. If he did, I am afraid he will not be able to play to his full potential.
Kyle Long says he's done with offseason work on his body

Bears offensive lineman Kyle Long indicated he had his final offseason surgery in a Twitter post Thursday when he said he is “done with work on my body for the offseason.”
Long previously had neck surgery in December and posted a photo of himself on Instagram on Wednesday apparently headed into a second surgery.
He tweeted Thursday that he now has “a ton of time to build the tank up again” as he tries to recover in time for the 2018 season.
He thanked his followers and also expressed appreciation for his parents in a separate post, noting that his father, former Raiders defensive lineman Howie Long, has been through similar trials.
Long used an Instagram story to share the photo of himself in a surgical cap Wednesday, and he wrote over the photo “2/3” with an emoji of two hands pressed together.

After his neck surgery in December, he went on Twitter to explain the plethora of injuries he has battled over the last two seasons. Along with coming back from 2016 ankle surgery, Long played the 2017 season with a torn labrum in his shoulder, injured his finger in October and eventually dealt with the neck issue.
“My only regret is I’ve only one body to give to the @chicagobears #BeardownAlways,” Long tweeted earlier Wednesday.
He told “Carmen and Jurko” on WMVP-AM 1000 last week that he would have work done on his shoulder this offseason.
“I’ve got some minor standard-operating-procedure offseason stuff,” he said of the surgeries. “But nothing major.”
The Bears have not yet revealed what the timetable is for Long’s return. General manager Ryan Pace said Jan. 1 they don’t expect to see any long-term effects from the neck surgery and are “confident in the direction he’s headed.”
