Alshon Jeffery shares thoughts on it not working with the Bears

Alshon Jeffery is not about reflecting on his time spent with the Chicago Bears.
Jeffery continued to make that clear this week throughout media sessions as he and the Philadelphia Eagles prepare to take on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. The veteran wideout has been asked a lot about the Bears and gave his final say on the organization on Tuesday.
"I'm in Philly now. It's a new start," Jeffery said, via the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs. "Chicago? It is what it is. It didn't work out. Some things don't work out as you planned. I could say that they felt it was time to move on and I felt the same."
Chicago slapped the franchise tag on Jeffery in 2016 after an injury-riddled 2015 campaign, but it was clear the organization did not want him to be a part of the Bears moving forward. Once free agency officially opened last March, he signed on the dotted line with the Eagles on a one-year deal worth $14 million.
A second-round pick of the Bears in 2012, Jeffery appeared in 10 games with six starts, catching 24 passes for 367 yards with three touchdowns before an injury ended his season. In 2013 he put himself on the map playing alongside Brandon Marshall.
Jeffery appeared in all 16 games with 14 starts and hauled in 89 catches for 1,421 yards with seven touchdowns en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance. A year later he caught 85 passes for 1,133 yards with 10 touchdowns in 16 starts.
2015 saw him struggled with injuries, but he caught 54 passes for 807 yards with four touchdowns in nine games. He entered the 2016 season playing under the franchise tag and caught 52 passes for 821 yards with two touchdowns but was suspended for four games for violating the league's performance enhancing drug policy. The Bears could have used the franchise tag on him again last offseason but opted to let him go.
Jeffery went on to start all 16 games for the Eagles this season, catching 57 passes for 789 yards with nine touchdowns. He also earned himself a four-year contract extension in December.

The South Carolina alum's comment makes it sound like Chicago clearly did not want him back and it is also clear he has found a new home in Philadelphia.
