I remember wanting Cooper for the Bears a few years ago when we desperately needed OL help. He was highly touted and went here to AZ at #7 and totally sucked balls for years.
Yellow warning flag
Sounds like he still was able to provide a service for his team mates at least.
Never seen so much division and uh.....alternate facts (well that's actually common place with one poster) over a single player and all because of the position he plays.
The idea that no college OG should be drafted in the top ten is ridiculous. A few years ago you couldn't give RBs away let alone project then as top ten picks. The top ranked player in the 2018 draft is a RB! Things have changed. RBs are back on top and OTs are slippin'.
If we need an OG and Nelson falls to us, AND there are no better alternatives, we should take him. Not pass on him for a WR or an OLB of questionable talent or NFL readiness. Not trade back to take the second or third best whatever just to add a 3rd round pick like Angelo would do. We take ****ing Nelson because he's the top ranked OL if we need another top ranked OL and he by far one of the safest bluest of the blue "blue chip" players in this draft. Gamble later but make those first two picks count. He's fail safe.
Jeezuz, how hard is that or do we all need to start using alternate facts to rationalize a new era of Bears incompetence and puzzling moves?
If you're going to use a ridiculous phrase repeatedly to cut down opinions, at least get it right ... "Alternative facts"
Jonathan Cooper and Chance Warmack say hello.
Cooper and Warmack are not Nelson so I'm not bringing them into the equation here. This is about whether or not Nelson is worth that #8 pick and no one else. You and I differ on it and that's fine. Those are opinions we're each entitled to and we disagree. No more, no less.
My use of the term "alternate facts" had nothing to do with you or cutting down any opinion being expressed by another but rather a convenient twisting of prior facts to bolster a position. I may not be a "stable genius" but I've managed so far in life to avoid having to use alternative facts to support a position. "Alternate facts" was also the term used and not by me which is why I quoted it not even attempting to be grammatically correct. Give me credit for knowing that much will you. Now, schools out. Lessons are over teach.
If you want to take part in debates maybe begin my showing up with more than one sentence opinions and back your hand with more than that and a juvenile comment to end your post. I normally respect your opinions but after that ending I should probably rethink it.
Well he has many many great plays but I really enjoyed this one.
The more I see the more I am excited about the possibility of drafting a guard
He is the 2nd or 3rd highest graded player in the draft and there are teams with ol needs ahead of 8. Wont make it to the bears but he would be a fine pick if he did.
Then again the argument was made that if barkley fell to 8 that would mean questions arised...i guess the same logic could aply to nelson.

Looking at him the only questions teams I imagine would ask themselves would be...."Gee am I allowed the draft a guard this high?" I mean there are rules in place to not draft a guard that high right? You can only draft a Game changer 1 - 10 right?

Its really rare to see them go top 10 and there is a reason for that, as rare as a safety going top 5(i seem to remember this kind of conversation last year with the #3 pick and a safety). But if nelson is rated as high as warmack was or the other ogs in recent drafts were then ya he could and can go. Riht now he is the highest graded ol and there are teams 1-7 that have og and ol needs.

We need to maintain a list of conversations the board has had already and give them a number. Then when something like 'don't need a qb to win the SB' arises, we can just post the number of the already had conversation. Really beat into the ground conversations can be avoided then.
