You guys are all wrong. With that #8 pick Pace and the scouting department needs to be focused on finding the next Tanner Gentry. With two WRs at that level we are unbeatable in the Pre-Seasons for the next 20 years :-)
This is him practicing his special eyes closed catching technique. Fox had no problem with it because Gentry had a good rapport with T. As a defensive guy, that was all Fox needed to know. If you had a good rapport with the QB, you were a starter.

Yes, but can even Gentry play at his elite level for 10-15 years?
I think he has it in him because he only has to perform at his elite level in training camp each year. The most work he gets after that is cleaning out his locker multiple times a year when he is cut/activated/placed on practice squad multiple times a year. I guess he COULD have a soft tissue injury carrying his gear in-and-out like that.
Never seen so much division and uh.....alternate facts (well that's actually common place with one poster) over a single player and all because of the position he plays.
The idea that no college OG should be drafted in the top ten is ridiculous. A few years ago you couldn't give RBs away let alone project then as top ten picks. The top ranked player in the 2018 draft is a RB! Things have changed. RBs are back on top and OTs are slippin'.
If we need an OG and Nelson falls to us, AND there are no better alternatives, we should take him. Not pass on him for a WR or an OLB of questionable talent or NFL readiness. Not trade back to take the second or third best whatever just to add a 3rd round pick like Angelo would do. We take ****ing Nelson because he's the top ranked OL if we need another top ranked OL and he by far one of the safest bluest of the blue "blue chip" players in this draft. Gamble later but make those first two picks count. He's fail safe.
Jeezuz, how hard is that or do we all need to start using alternate facts to rationalize a new era of Bears incompetence and puzzling moves?

it's amazing how all the experts talk about how great these wr's are and yet they struggle come the regular season to even find the field.
I would love to see the Bears finally have enough quality starting WR's that the fans stop hoping for hope from these udfa wish and a prayer players.

If you're going to use a ridiculous phrase repeatedly to cut down opinions, at least get it right ... "Alternative facts"

Jonathan Cooper and Chance Warmack say hello.
They are prime examples of why its rare and why its hardly given a og will be a differnce maker. The best og taken in the last 5 years was schreff and that was a happy accident for wash who thought they were getting a takle. The others havent proven to be special. Warmack and Cooper both had a ton of high praise also, nfl.com had this about warmack " His toughness and durability are outstanding, and he grades out as one of the elite talents in the 2013 NFL Draft". Coopers had this: Due to his ability to lead the way on runs and outstanding pass protection skills,"he figured to be the first guard selected in the draft". It's all kinda pointless though b/c honestly much like barkley and chubb i'd be stunned if he even gets to 8.
If he dropped I'd be okay with nelson or any other player bc i trust pace, but its not nelson and then a huge gap to the next set of players. he is just one in a group of talent that should fall bc of the qb need this year.
Should be a good a few good players reguardless of what happens 1 through 7, Nelson or otherwise the Bears are going to get a good player if they stay at 8.

I remember wanting Cooper for the Bears a few years ago when we desperately needed OL help. He was highly touted and went here to AZ at #7 and totally sucked balls for years.

Yellow warning flag
Sounds like he still was able to provide a service for his team mates at least.

Lol, the Cards finally gave up on him (like we are about to do with Kevin White) and moved on.
