3 Reasons why the Chicago Bears will beat the Philadelphia Eagles

The Chicago Bears suffered a disappointing loss to the Houston Texans last week, but fear not! The Bears are in position to get their first win at home on Monday. Here are 3 reasons why the Bears will be victorious over the Eagles in primetime.
1. The Bears are 9-1 against rookie quarterbacks at Soldier Field
The confines of Soldier Field have not been kind to rookie quarterbacks. The likes of Matthew Stafford, Andrew Luck, and Cam Newton have all fallen at Soldier Field in their rookie season. The Bears have snagged at least one interception against all of the three aforementioned quarterbacks (3 picks Luck). Chicago’s defense has thrived on putting young quarterbacks under pressure and forcing mistakes. While Carson Wentz looked sharp last week, he faced a cupcake defense in the Cleveland Browns. The Bears might not be a top 10 defense yet, but Wentz can expect a significantly more complex and ferocious defense on Monday night.
2. Jay Cutler is 8-3 against Jim Schwartz coached defenses
There’s no question that Jim Schwartz is one of the best defensive minds in the NFL, but Jay Cutler has had an answer more often than not. In his 11 match-ups against Schwartz, Cutler has averaged 233 yards per game with a 61.7% completion rate. However, the stat that everyone looks at when it comes to Cutler is touchdowns to interception. Luckily for Bears fans, Cutler has excelled at this stat against Schwartz with 17 touchdowns to only 5 interceptions. Cutler has avoided throwing an interceptions in 7 out of his 11 duels with Schwartz.
3. The Eagles struggled with covering the deep ball… against the Browns
The Eagles might have won their game against the lowly Browns, but they gave up some big plays in the process. Receivers Gary Coleman and Terrell Pryor hauled in passes of 58 and 44 respectively. Nothing against Coleman and Pryor, but they don’t hold a candle to the likes of Alshon Jeffery, Kevin White, and Zach Miller. While John Fox tends to lean on the run game, he should definitely take some shots downfield to test Philadelphia’s defensive backs. Cutler and Jeffery’s connection in Houston provides further optimism that the home run ball can bring the Bears to victory against the Eagles.
