This is a real bombshell if true. Apparently Brady went over BBs head to Kraft and made him tell BB to trade Garapollo. I can't see this ending well. Speculation is that this is the last year all three stay together.
Love to get BB if at all possible. What a situation...
Report: ESPN to publish story on 'severe' rift between Kraft, Brady, Belichick
Expect Friday to be full of discussions surrounding the future of the New England Patriots as ESPN's Seth Wickersham will be publishing a piece on the "severe" power struggle between Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and Robert Kraft on Friday morning, a source told Bruce Allen of Boston Sports Media Watch. The rift among the three surrounds a disagreement over who deserves the most credit for their dynasty, which has included six Super Bowl victories since 2001. The article reveals that many Patriots players believe the power struggle could result in this being the last year all three remain together. One major bombshell from the article is that Brady went to Kraft to force Belichick to trade his former backup Jimmy Garoppolo. Last offseason, Wickersham published a similar piece detailing a rift between the offense and the defense of the Seattle Seahawks that stemmed from their Super Bowl-losing interception.
Not at all hard to believe given the egos involved there.
Brady envisions himself as a Superman who can play 'til he's 50 and there's already been a whole lot of friction already caused by Belicheat keeping Brady's personal trainer off the Pats premises. This is where egos and arrogance gets you. Who runs that team, BB or Brady?
Under normal circumstances Brady would be wrapping up his HOF career and Jimmy G would be prepping to step in as the starter in 2019 once the Pats signed him long term as they would have liked to do. I could understand even last spring why BB didn't want to trade JG for that very reason which is what led to his price to make a trade one everyone knew no one would pay.
But if Garoppolo stays there will be constant pressure for Brady to yield and in every game he'd be under a microscope with the media and others looking for any sign of a decline. Knowing Brady that would not set well with him or his massive ego. In dictatorships the competition is murdered or simply "disappears". In the NFL the competition to a dictator gets traded or released.
Now that Jimmy G is gone it would not shock me at all to see BB hang it up and let Kraft and Brady sort it out.
This could also set up another power struggle for who replaces him? Will McDik and Patricia decline current HC offer and decide to stick around and battle over the bones if BB leaves? Stay tuned. This could be good.

I don't know if it is true or not. However, I'll not be surprised if the Belichick leaves the Pats. Also, if Belichick does leave, I don't expect them to be a dominant team like they used to be.

I agree. BB could leave and if he does, Brady screwed the team. No QB (although Kraft is the guy that really did the screwing - he should have said, "talk to Bill") for the future and no stud HC. Wow.... what a fall that would be.

BB would want roster control and that will not happen with Pace as GM. He will not be entertaining Chicago any time soon.

I know. Sadly this is true. Because Pace is better than BB at evaluating football players. Oh... sorry I mean because ego.

BB will retire. Why go to a team with lesser talent where you possibly (and probably) not have a lot of success and give people reason to take credit away from him for NE’s success (by shifting credit to only Brady)? He won’t. Just like Phil Jackson wouldn’t dare go anywhere without a roster full of stars. They aren’t dummies.
