Chicago Bears linebacker Christian Jones is playing on an expiring contract and has developed into a player that general manager Ryan Pace must re-sign this offseason.
He’s been a warrior at inside linebacker filling in for injuries to Danny Trevathan and Nick Kwiatkoski as well as the suspended Jerrell Freeman.
He entered Week 17 as the team’s leading tackler.
But he also brings value on special teams, as evidenced by this play: (won't post so watch on link, worth it)
Jones has starter’s ability and will be pursued heavily in free agency. The Bears have to pay him like a starter and allow him to enter the offseason in a competition to start alongside Danny Trevathan next season.
Liked him since day 1 and he’s come a long way. Hopefully we’ll keep him and the special team hit was sweet.
Yeah he did lay some wood didn't he? He's always been one of our best tacklers he's just not the guy we want calling defense signals. I somewhat disagree with him at ILB though. I'd like to see what he could do on the edge.
