I don't know what to think of Reich. Philly has played extremely well this season but let's not get carried away. So far Wentz and the Eagles are a one-year wonder. Way too early to tell if Wentz really is that great or not.
DeFelippo needs to become an OC first before he gets an opportunity to be HC somewhere imo.
Typically that's the ladder Grizz. Few guys if any jump from a position coach to HC without having spent time as coordinators. I think with someone like DeFilippo he'd have to come with a strong staff and maybe a DC whose also been a HC like a Chuck Pagano.
Teams are looking for this years Sean McVay who did have two years as OC with the 'Skins but what may also help is he has Wade Phillips as his DC and Wade has been an NFL HC. But I agree with you. There's more likelihood of hiring someone else who'd the bring in DeFilippo as his OC.
+1 The NFL has always had its copycat people. Unfortunately lightening rarely strikes twice, and trying to replicate the past just because one or two teams made it work, may not do the Bears any good. Over the past few days I'm leaning towards Dave Toub, if he can bring in some rock solid coordinators with him. And it sure sounds like he is respected enough that he could do that.
