After their 20-10 loss to the Lions on Saturday, the Bears have an extra day this week to process all that went wrong in their fifth NFC North loss in five division games this year.
Here’s what we learned at Halas Hall on Monday as they prepare for the 0-14 Browns.
The Bears were at their worst Saturday when it came to penalties.
When Tarik Cohen popped up from a 90-yard kickoff return and saw a flag had been thrown, he felt yet another sinking feeling.
“It was just like, ‘Dang, almost had one,’ ” Cohen said.
Cohen’s return was called back because of a holding penalty on DeAndre Houston-Carson, the longest in a long list of plays that Cohen has had negated this season because of penalties. The list also includes a 67-yard punt return against the 49ers and a 28-yard punt return against the Steelers.
Houston-Carson’s penalty was among the more costly in another messy game for the Bears.
